She acted in classic Iraqi Arabic and in English with an Iraqi accent in The Waiter (2010). She is a National Merit Scholar and received a Bachelor of Business Administration with a focus in International Business and Marketing from the University of Oklahoma on a full scholarship. She was treasurer of the OU Film Society and liaison for the Women's Outreach Center, and is also an alumnus of the Phi Sigma
