Kelly Taffe was raised in Harlem, New York and Reston, Virginia. She is the daughter of the late Simone and Henry Taffe, both of Kingston, Jamaica. Her mother Simone was a respected high school teacher in Jamaica but became a Financial Analyst and her father Henry was one of the first black jewelry store owners in Yonkers, New York.
